David, the Neutral Facilitator
David Stanfield is a professional facilitator with eight years of experience in rural and regional Queensland.
As a neutral facilitator, David designs a process to meet the specific needs of the group that has engaged him.
He will focus on the process (the how) of the event, leaving organisers and participants free to concentrate on the
content (the what) of the event.
To do this David does not need a deep understanding of the content, but he does need a thorough briefing on what
outcomes and outputs are expected, how many and who will be there and what the group dynamics are likely to be.
Realistic and achievable outcomes are negotiated before the event. If necessary, these can be modified as the
event unfolds. The expected outcomes will be confirmed with the whole group before proceeding.
Through identifying clear, realistic aims and thorough planning, David manages the process to ensure useful
outcomes that can be carried through after the "event" is over. David's success has been built around
this negotiation.
David's workshops are never dull. From his signature colourful shirts to his varied processes that keep it
dynamic, as well as productive, David provides "the goods" for his clients every time. His facilitation
style is interactive and high energy, and tends to be pragmatic, yet different from "the usual".
From National Forums on Dung Beetles, to visioning and strategic planning in the private sector, David thrives
on delivering something interesting as well as effective. By applying the principles of effective communication,
adult learning, and change management, a productive outcome can be guaranteed, every time. From bun-fights to
boardrooms the principles of good meetings still apply and deliver results.
